WCL Corporation's experience with the CE Marking process indicates that there is a significant need for expertise in the application of the IEC 1010-1 (EU Harmonized Standard number EN 61010-1).  This is the standard used in Europe for Lab Instrumentation products, Metering of electrical parameters, Process Control Equipment and Transducers/Signal Conditioning applications.  It is also used as a catch-all for many products when no specific product standard exists.  This standard will, over time, replace several UL and CSA standards.

Our observation of products brought to WCL Corporation for IEC 1010-1 evaluation by engineers who have attended previous seminars is that the process can move much faster with less need for redesign and rework.  This permits better pricing by WCL Corporation and quicker turnaround, with quicker marketing of YOUR products in the EU.  There is also less confusion on the part of the engineer about the requirements of the standard and conformance can be built in, instead of added on.
